Sometimes we make quiet agreements with ourselves:
If this happens, then I’ll know.
When I get to this point, then I’ll decide.
As long as this is still true, I’ll stay.
Those conditions can help us slow down and make thoughtful choices. But sometimes, they keep us waiting for external evidence to confirm something we may already know.
In this reflection, I share one of the conditions I created in my own life, and invite you to notice where you may be doing the same.
Not so you can rush toward a decision or make a plan.
Simply so you can ask:
What becomes visible when I remove the condition?
And perhaps, underneath it all:
What do I know now?
Want to continue the practice together?
For the next two weeks, you can also join me for Leadership Through Transition, a free live experience on September 9.
